Decoding Digital Media
Decoding Digital Media in African Conflict Regions (DDMAC) is an interdisciplinary research project that began in 2022 and concluded in 2023. The project brought together researchers affiliated with research institutions in Norway, the Netherlands, Mali, and Ethiopia. Together, they collected data on the role of digital communication in the development and mediation of conflicts. The researchers focused in particular on disinformation and various forms of information manipulation, as well as on how disinformation and hate speech circulate within digital networks.
As a project partner, Voice4Thought conducted research in Mali under the direction of Modibo Cissé of the V4T Academy Mali.
The project was funded by the Research Council of Norway.
est un projet de recherche interdisciplinaire qui a débuté en 2022 et s’est achevé en 2023. Le projet a réuni des chercheurs affiliés à des institutions de recherche en Norvège, aux Pays-Bas, au Mali et en Éthiopie. Ensemble, ils ont recueilli des données sur le rôle de la communication numérique dans l’évolution et la médiation des conflits. Les chercheurs se sont notamment intéressés à la désinformation et aux différentes formes de manipulation de l’information, ainsi qu’à la manière dont la désinformation et les discours de haine circulent au sein des réseaux numériques.
En tant que partenaire du projet, Voice4Thought a mené des recherches au Mali sous la direction de Modibo Cissé, de la V4T Academy Mali.
Le projet a été financé par le Conseil norvégien de la recherche.
