Journalist & Podcast Specialist
Laurens Nijzink describes himself as a venture investor—not of money, but of time and energy. When he first arrived in Chad, he saw great potential for high-quality journalism. He decided to start a project where he would travel to Chad every 6 weeks to organize journalism workshops and help young talent develop their voices. This project became Bon Buzz, which has since grown into a thriving network of young journalists.
Laurens Nijzink is originally an independent journalist. He is the managing editor at Voice4Thought and the coordinator of Bridging Humanities and Bon Buzz. Previously, he worked as an editor at ZAM Magazine and as a journalist for Radio Netherlands Worldwide. He holds a master’s degree in Human Geography and has been involved with the Bridging Humanities platform since its founding in 2017. His work focuses on redefining colonial narratives and promoting positive socio-political change.
