Catherina Wilson

Researcher & writer

Catherina believes that platforms like Voice4Thought are essential in positioning researchers as knowledge facilitators who connect different audiences. She is interested in co-creation and alternative research methods, striving to bridge the gap between academic and non-academic knowledge. For her, Voice4Thought symbolizes a space where academic research and art converge, serving as a springboard for opportunities and methodological experimentation.

Catherina has a background as an ethnographer and mobility scholar. Her work integrates elements from anthropology, history, sociolinguistics, and human geography. She obtained her PhD in African History from Leiden University, where she researched the relationship between mobility and conflict in Central Africa. Currently, she is an assistant professor at Radboud University, focusing on digitalization in the era of displacement.

She is currently collaborating with Jasmijn Peeters on establishing a Voice4Thought academy in Colombia under the name Vozpa’Colombia.
