Voice4Thought presents: Anger in Leiden, 18 and 19 October 2018

Voice4Thought is back in Leiden for its annual event. On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 October, Voice4Thought organises, in collaboration with BplusC, ‘Anger in Leiden’ – a two-day event with arts, citizenship, activism and science. During this fourth edition of V4T@Leiden, we will investigate the discontent in society.
‘Anger in Leiden’ brings together artists, scientists, journalists and activists from all over the world to investigate how to employ the high energy of anger for positive social action. We do this in various forms: in street performances in the city center; in workshops (graffiti, cartoon drawing, painting, blogging, film making and slam poetry); a panel discussion ‘Leiden University City?’; and a concert in the Volkshuis. Voice4Thought does not simply present something to the public, but calls for active input from everyone. In this way, Leiden will positively surprise herself with the enormous transformative power of her anger.

Voice4Thought presenteert: Woede in Leiden, 18 en 19 oktober 2018
Voice4Thought is terug met haar jaarlijkse evenement in Leiden. Op donderdag 18 en vrijdag 19 oktober organiseert Voice4Thought, in samenwerking met BplusC, ‘Woede in Leiden’ – een tweedaags evenement met kunst, burgerschap, activisme en wetenschap. Tijdens deze vierde editie van V4T@Leiden onderzoeken de onvrede in de samenleving.
‘Woede in Leiden’ brengt kunstenaars, wetenschappers, journalisten en activisten uit verschillende delen van de wereld samen om te onderzoeken hoe we de grote energie van woede in kunnen zetten voor positieve maatschappelijke actie. Dit doen we in verschillende vormen: in straatperformances in het centrum van Leiden; in workshops (graffiti, striptekenen, schilderen, bloggen, filmen en slam poëzie); met een paneldiscussie ‘Leiden Universiteitsstad?’; en een concert in het Leidse Volkshuis. Voice4Thought presenteert niet zomaar iets aan het publiek, maar vraagt om actieve inbreng van iedereen. Op deze manier zal Leiden zichzelf positief verrassen met de enorme transformatieve kracht van haar woede.
