Ogechi

Ogechi Dimgba Nwoke (1984) was born in a poor family. He worked his way through secondary school by setting up small businesses and acquiring skills in making shoes and bags. These skills allowed him to earn the money to further his education and take care of his family. Ogechi has a strong message for the youth around him: ‘They shouldn’t wait for the government, neither wait for their father!’. He believes young Nigerians should be independent of their families and the government (whom he says they can’t expect anything from), by learning skills. Ogechi has taken up the responsibility of training young people in his workshop, teaching them practical skills while at the same time carrying out his message.
